Account Executive, Gallagher Re – Program Solutions

Having spent forty years in the London market Ted joined Gallagher Re in 2020. His insurance life started in placing direct and facultative accounts before moving onto treaty reinsurance at Thompson Graham (subsequently Jardine Thompson Graham) producing and playing Lloyd’s syndicate reinsurance programmes. In 1985 Ted moved to Minet Re to work on North American P&C accounts. In 1987 he was asked to rejoin Jardine Thompson Graham’s North American P&C and produced and placed various property and casualty programmes.

In the last twenty-five years Ted has focused on all classes of US casualty business including Medical Malpractice, Automobile Liability, Workers’ Compensation Excess programmes placed in Lloyd’s and Bermuda.

Since 2005 Ted has worked in broking teams that operate with clients considering Alternative Risk formats which involved analysis, creation and implementation of several Risk Retention Groups and Captive Insurance entities, both on and offshore. Currently Ted is directly involved with eight such entities.
